Reverend David Mingus became pastor of the New Zion UMC on June 1, 2006. He is a probationary elder in the United Methodist Church, serving both New Zion UMC and Atoka 1st UMC. Rev. Mingus graduated in May of 2006 Cum Laude with a Masters of Divinity Degree from Southern Methodist University. His wife Susan and he have been married for 23 years and they have two children, Jenny, 21, attending Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford OK, and Chris, 19, attending Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant OK.
Prior to entering the ministry, David owned his own computer and web-based training development company and was a veteran of 11 years in the United States Air Force; leaving as a Master Sergeant Instructor Boom Operator in the KC-135 aircraft.
David also serves as the pastor of Atoka 1st UMC in Atoka, so many of the activities we do, we do together as churches joined by our pastor and joined by our hearts as disciples of Jesus Christ.
